[Devlog] Untitled MFGJ Platformer


Good morning, afternoon, or night, wherever you might be!

This is the devlog for our currently-untitled platformer. Let's get introductions out of the way:

Game Developer: Folchamp

Visual Artist: Ajiyuu

Sound Engineer: Staintocton

Writer: Shade (that's me!)

With the jam officially starting today, our team has begun developing a game based on the jam's theme, growth. Our goal is to present growth as an internal experience as well as an external, visible journey for the player. In the days leading up to the jam, we brainstormed this concept amongst ourselves, deciding on the game's mechanics, length, and art style together.

Today, our developer worked on coding some basic platforming rules in the game's engine. He's also gathered images for our artist to use as a reference. Our sound designer has also put together some samples of background music for us to use in cutscenes, which I've begun writing scripts for. At this early stage in development, we're hoping to get a working version of the game running as soon as possible. This way, we can expand on it as we see fit and make necessary changes along the way.

As it stands, we have a lot of work ahead of us. But we have a clear direction for our game and can't wait to share it with everyone.
